Motorbike rider sentenced to imprisonment
- Jakobbson was convicted in the County Court of one count of culpable driving causing death and one count of failing to stop after an accident.He was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment. The purpose of sanctions that Campton J emphasised in her speech was denunciation (disapproval of the criminal behaviour). Campton J focussed on denunciation to send a clear message that Jakobbson’s behaviour in leaving the scene of an accident was not acceptable.
